If you’re after a monitor that absolutely shreds in games but doesn’t look out of place during the work day, the Samsung Odyssey G7 is hard to beat. It’s been around for a while now, and the reason it’s still recommended is simple: it’s just really, really good.

The Curve Factor

The 1000R curvature on a 32-inch panel is pretty aggressive, and if you’ve never used a curved monitor before, it’ll feel odd for the first day or two. But once your brain adjusts, flat monitors start looking weirdly… flat. The curve wraps your peripheral vision naturally, reducing the need to physically turn your head to see the edges of the screen.

Performance

240Hz at 1440p is the sweet spot for gaming in 2025. It’s sharp enough to look great, and most decent GPUs can push high frame rates at this resolution. The VA panel delivers contrast ratios that IPS panels can only dream of — those deep blacks make a genuine difference in darker games.

The 1ms response time means ghosting and smearing are essentially non-existent. Fast-paced shooters look clean and responsive.

As a Daily Driver

Here’s the thing most gaming monitor reviews don’t mention: the Odyssey G7 is actually a solid productivity monitor too. The 1440p resolution gives you plenty of workspace, the QLED tech makes colours pop for media work, and the curve reduces eye strain during long sessions. Text isn’t quite as crisp as a 4K panel at this size, but it’s more than adequate.

The Stand Situation

Fair warning: the included stand is massive. It looks cool (very sci-fi), but it takes up a considerable chunk of desk real estate. A VESA monitor arm is a strongly recommended addition.
